Ossabaw Island:
How do you put into words something that you still have a hard time comprehending? I'm not sure what it was about the magical place of Ossabaw Island, but something there changed me. The island awakened me to a part of myself that had been forgotten; locked away and disregarded. The island allowed me to find the artist and photographer in myself again. I felt alive. It's hard to describe what my week long adventure was like. Almost as if the only people that truly understand are the ones that were there with me. Perhaps Jack Leigh said it best when he wrote in his journal, "I'm off the island now, back to my real world, but I'm not the same person. My time on Ossabaw has renewed me, both as a photographer and as a human being."
